Stone Harbor was fun. It was nice to get away again and hang out with friends. Emily ended up getting some 24 hour bug while we were there. He brother had it after she did. Luckily no one else got sick. It was not pleasant though. The weather was PERFECT. We couldn’t have had it any better. It was hot with nearly no humidity. My kind of weather. I should really move out west.
When I got home I house sat for Emily. I took care of her dog and two cats as well. It was nice. Chris stayed there also. We just kind of hung out and took it easy the rest of the week. It was almost a vacation in itself — if only I was not working each day. Saturday when they all returned home we hung out for awhile and then I started dog sitting for Cindy. I swear I did not stop for a good two weeks. I was always on the go.
Anyhow, it’s back to reality for me. Work really wears me out. I had a massage this weekend and I was screaming obscenities majority of the hour and a half. I had huge knots in my back between my shoulder blades. Diana managed to get them all out of there though — PHEW!
Here are some interesting things going on right now…
- I started a new book. It’s called Turtle Feet.
- I applied to Bucks County Community College.
- I’m finally getting my Apple fixed.
- I take my x-ray exam again in November.
- I should be starting to work Sundays again shortly.
- Aileen’s engagement party is coming up!
- Jelly is (hopefully) coming home soon to visit!
- Jelly, EJ and I may go see Jason Mraz on October 16th for Jelly’s birthday!

Last weekend I managed to get away and spend the weekend with my brother at Maryjane’s beach house in Seaside, New Jersey. Friday and Saturday were beautiful days. I spent a few hours on the beach on Saturday but that was all. Maryjane, Juliette and I went to the boardwalk to the bars on Friday night after we pre-gamed until one in the morning (the bars down there are open until four). We went to the Saw Mill as soon as we got there. The band that was playing was awesome. Band ended and so we left. I managed to get myself kicked out of Jack & Bill’s that evening… and not because I was intoxicated by any means but because I was defending my brother’s girlfriend because some chick grabbed her ass (I pushed a bouncer I didn’t know was a bouncer). It was a big misunderstanding but the bouncers did not see it that way. Anyhow, turns out that Maryjane knew the guys who were bartending that night very well and they let us back in shortly after. The following evening we returned to the same bar where we played pool and beer pong.
Short vacations seem to be my thing right now. Tomorrow morning I leave for Stone Harbor to hang out with the Terry’s and the rest of their clan at their beach house until Tuesday. Today, tomorrow morning and when I get home on Tuesday evening I will be staying at Emily’s house and house sitting while they stay in stone Harbor the rest of the week.
Today I think I am going to do my laundry and clean my car. I hope it does not rain all day cause I would like to be able to take it to the car wash and vacuum it out without standing in the rain while I do so.
I need some sunshine… or maybe a nap.

My room is desperate for a cleanout. I really need to get rid of quite a few things. I am going to start doing that now while I listen to Imogen Heap – The Walk. I am officially in love with this song. Here are the lyrics…
Inside out, upside-down twisting beside myself,
Stop that now, cos you and I were never meant to be
I think you better leave; it’s not safe in here,
I feel a weakness coming on.

Happy Summer Solstice!
Every couple of months I really find the urge to quit everything I am doing and search for my dream job. I know I won’t get a job working with marine mammals or tigers and other big cats without any experience or further education so I really need to get my butt in gear and get back to school. I have the option of spending a ridiculous amount of money and trying to get some student loans at Delaware Valley where I can get a bachelors degree in Biology with a specialization in Zoology (which I would love to do) or I have the option of going to Bucks County Community College and getting an associates degree in Biology alone and not spending quite as much money. I would still be living at home too so I wouldn’t have to spend money on an apartment and so forth. My other option is to leave it all and go find a school elsewhere that I can get a degree in Zoology. I really would love to go to Del Val and I am going to look into some student loans or scholarships that may apply. In that case though I would probably not be able to work as much as I do now.
Yikes!
Sometimes I wish I had known what I was doing with my life when I graduated high school but I am so sure of it now that it doesn’t matter. If I even had some inclination of what I wanted to do I don’t think I would have gone about it the same way. I never thought I would be at that point where I knew what my “dream job” would be. I’ll keep dreaming though because it’s not reality yet. Hopefully soon though!
On another note I successfully made it to Reidsville, North Carolina and back in my trusted Ubaru. That car is hideous and I hate it but I also have such a love for it just because it’s a Subaru. It’s nearing 200,000 miles and I think I may have to throw it a party. Maybe I’ll just get a cake… or some new lights and a cd player…. and new interior lights… and a new seat… and a new rear-view mirror… and a catalytic converter… or a tire rotation. Oi vey.

I had a dream last night that was incredibly tantalizing. I woke up in shock.
I’ve had an eventful couple weeks. Last week Sarah turned 21 and we went out to Havana with a few people in New Hope. We stuck around for Kinky Quizzo. Sarah’s group ended up winning. It was raunchy and just an all around good time. Sarah’s party bus was Saturday. That was a ton of fun. We went down to the city to Club 27 (eh, so so) and then to the River Deck. We had a really fun group of people. I didn’t get home until 4 AM. Needless to say — my sleeping schedule is slightly off. Last night I went out to dinner and drinks with Kelly and her friend Tim who I learned knows many of the same people I do and I think I may have even met him last summer at the Francis’ beach house. Anyways, getting up and going to work today sucked but oh well. I had dinner with Kelly afterwards and now I’m tired and bored.
Oh, my TomTom officially failed me. I was driving to the Hamilton train station in Jersey on Saturday morning to drop Jen off and I selected the train station of the Points of Interest and it took me to a freaking dead end! Then we typed in the address and tried it that way and it took me to ANOTHER dead end. It was very disappointing however we managed to turn around and it re-routed us in the right direction. It was still a pain though. It said to get off at an exit before the actual exit where the train station is. TomTom better not get me lost on my way to North Carolina. Hmph.
I want to get in Emily’s hot tub. Now!

I got anxious when I saw the Circuit City commercial for a $149.99 TomTom ONE 130 that I went straight to buy it after work this evening. I have been looking at TomToms and Garmins for the past week or so. A GPS Navigational system for my car was definitely next on my list of things to purchase. I wanted one because not only am I directionally challenged but I am also making a trip to Reidsville, North Carolina to see Jelly and I think the TomTom will keep me company and well directed during my trip! I hope all goes well with that. I’ll have to double check with Jelly what the directions are and make sure the TomTom is correct.
It’s small but great. I tested it on my way home. I needed gas so I navigated to the Points of Interest and found the nearest gas station in the direction I was heading home. Accurate… however the gas station was on the other side of a median which was annoying because I had to turn around ahead. It did instruct me to do that though which is great. I changed route a few times to check the re-route feature. LOVELY! I am so proud of my little TomTom. I can’t wait to try it out some more this weekend. I think I am going to go get lost somewhere and make it find my way back home.
There is SO much work to be done at the office. It’s crazy. I really felt as if my head was just going to explode tonight. I was so discombobulated!

Wow, I never thought this would ever happen but I was listening to the radio one morning this week (I think it may have been Friday) and New Kids on the Block were being interviewed about a NEW CD! Oh boy. This scares me but also excites me cause they announced they will be going on tour and preforming their old songs as well as new. I’d love to go see them preform their old songs. Ahh good old Joey McIntyre singing please don’t gooo girrrl…
On another note — this rain sucks. I am ready for summer weather and the beach. Emily just got home from her cruise. She got me a little clear lizard key chain. When it’s in the sun it turns purple! So cute.
I’ve been looking into getting a GPS. I really would like to have one for my drive to North Carolina in June. Anyone have one and love it? I am trying to get an idea of what brand to go with. I’m thinking either TomTom or Garmin. Garmin are cheaper which is a plus. Any input will be helpful.
Last night I watched Death Sentence with Emily and Chris. It was a very strange movie. It was sad though. Kevin Bacon was the main character which bugged me out cause I am not really a huge fan of him. I think he and his brother should switch careers cause his brother is better at acting and Kevin is better at singing. Scary, huh? Anyways… the plot of the movie is Kevin Bacon going on a rampage trying to get revenge on the gang that killed his oldest son. I don’t think I’d ever tell anyone to go rent it but if it is on tv someday then hey… why the fuck not?
I need to do some laundry, take a shower and then I am going over to Mat’s cause apparently he’s making dinner! Aww…

…is not a luxury for the middle class.”
Mat has finally put up his new blog. Woo! Let’s see how long we can both keep up with this. He tells me that my link to my domain from MySpace is not working and that I forgot the “i” in satisfy. I think he’s crazy though because I just double checked it and it’s working just fine! Maybe it was the lack of sleep he received last night. Read his first entry in the blog and you’ll see what I mean. That boy comes up with some trippy shit when he pulls an all-nighter. Sometimes I wonder what is going through that brain of his.
Nate, my little 2 year old “boyfriend” from the gym, is just getting cuter and cuter as he spits out words. He is constantly saying “girlfriend… funny!” and today he said “yummy mummy” because I just so happened to randomly say it. He cracks me up. He was going down the slide when his mom came in to get him after her workout and he kept saying “girlfriend… look!, look Kara!” Toby, his brother, was dancing to Peter Pan today. It was adorable. Every time a song came on in the movie he’d get up and start stomping around and Nate would follow. Kids make me smile. I’ll have to post some pictures of the kids as soon as Emily sends me the ones she took. I miss my imagination. It’s still there, but it’s nothing compared to what it used to be when I was little.
I watched PS. I Love You last night. Amazing. I cried… because I’m a sap like that. It’s a sad movie, but it is also an amazing story. It reallllly makes me want to go to Ireland. Hillary Swank was excellent in it… and I am not really a big fan of her. Go watch it. You won’t regret it.
I’m going to head over to Lauren’s in a little bit so I might as well find some clothes and wash my face and whatnot. We’re just going to hang out, drink some chardonnay and watch a movie. Sounds perfect for a miserable rainy day like today.
In regards to my first entry here… I apologize for writing about the lame details of my life. I attempted to avoid it, but oh well. It’s inevitable.

Happy belated Cinco de Mayo! I celebrated… did you?
I feel like I have not been able to sit still in a week or so. I am either at work at the gym or working at the office… or going out to dinner with Kelly and having a few drinks or getting ridiculously drunk at Emily’s house. Oi!
I haven’t been able to get rid of this cough either. It is driving me insane.
It’s official! I am driving to North Carolina in June to see Jelly for a looong weekend. I am going the 11th through the 16th. It is going to be a long drive but I think I can handle the 7 to 8 hours. It would be nice to have someone to drive down with though, but I highly doubt any of my friends are heading down to North Carolina the same weekend I am. Maybe I can get Jelly’s mom to bring her up the weekend before and leave her here with me and then drive back down there with her so I am not completely clueless with the directions. Getting home would be the difficult part then. Hmm… I will have to talk to her about that.
I think I am going to start committing to putting some content up on here. I did get the links section up and also posted a link to my photos at Zoto.
I forgot to mention the Phillies game that umpire got me tickets to! It was awesome. They played the Padres. My dad and I went. We had great seats. They were between home plate and third base on the first level. The Robyn concert with Ashley was incredible as well. We ran into Justin and his roommates and Ashley’s ex-boyfriend from like 7th grade. It was a good time. After all that dancing and amazing music we headed to the South Street diner as a group and hung out there for a little bit. I had a good time and it was really good to see that dirty hippie (Ash) again. I missed her.
I also scored a $218 Fossil suede/leather purse from Macy’s for only $63. It was on clearance and Emily also had a 20% off coupon. Very successful purchase even though $63 is more than I would normally pay for a purse. It will last me a long time though. Fossil’s usually do.
Anyhow, I am tired. I wish I had time to take a nap, but I would only get like 15-20 minutes in and I think that would make me pretty cranky. I think I’ll just hop in the shower and shave my legs so I can wear a skirt today to work. It is absolutely beautiful out. I think it is up to about 80 degrees right now. I love it.
“As vehicles for our mind and spirit, our bodies require proper maintenance. Caring for ourselves is like polishing–helping to clear away the accumulation of physical debris that keeps us from operating at our fullest capacity. A simple shift in our thoughts can positively affect our mental state, moving from complaints to gratitude and applying the powerful light of love to any shadowy thoughts. A change of scenery can allow us to see the world in new ways too.” www.dailyom.com

Ashley and I are going to see Robyn at the TLA this evening. Anyone remember Robyn? You better. Her new CD is a little crazy but I am really hoping that she will play some of her really old stuff.
An umpire for the Phillies was at the gym today. I guess he comes in every once in awhile when he is in town. Anyhow, he got me three tickets to the game tomorrow night so I think my Dad and I are going and possibly my brother. We shall see. He also gave me a game ball from last nights game. Thanks again, Ump!
